I never really did blogging often, only starting when it was required to make one for a class. I used a Wordpress site as the platform for my first blog. It did take some messing around with and experimenting with to get used to, but it wasn't too bad to work with. Though I never kept up with it after that class, I have found myself wanting to add to the blog but never getting around to actually doing it. Now I have this Wix site that I'll be using, and I do think its a great upgrade from Wordpress. Let's get into why I have this blog in the first place.

This blog is being made for my DCIM Capstone project where I will be covering the subject of Virtual Communities. Living in this digital age, lets users from all over come together from anywhere in the world, and we only become more accustomed to being a part of virtual communities. There is a variety of virtual communities that serve different purposes but the one thing that they all do similarly is that the people who all join the group share a common interest. Virtual Communities aren't only about the space that take up online but the people in the group and the social dynamics that occur through on the internet. In the events of the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone has moved online and virtual communities have been busier than ever. These communities have a lot of influence in how people interact with others even in-person. As long as people are still going to the internet, virtual communities will play a huge role in our digital lives.
